I read a lot of posts on this site where people say they rarely ski powder, or if they hit a powder day, it is tracked up after their first run. Well let me tell you about the luck I have had this year. We went to Steamboat for a week between Christmas and New Years. Five ski days, three of them powder days. We spent four nights at Copper a few weeks back. Out of three ski days, two were powder: one day 8 inches and the next 17! We just got back from a short trip to Winter Park. We skied Monday and Tuesday and there was fresh powder both days. On Tuesday it was windy and the bump runs kept filling back up with fresh. The best part is that all of these powder days happened mid-week, so there was plenty to go around. Tuesday morning I made two trips down Mary Jane and rarely touched another track! The days I have skied where there has been no fresh, the snow and conditions have been amazing (except the day in Steamboat where it was 15 below).
I realize I have probably jinxed myself and assured my next two trips will be filled with ice and rocks, or worse. But I just had to brag.
