Need some help on terminology

I have had to get a grind/punch on the outside edge of my Langes right were the 5th metatarsal (base) and cuboid bone connect.  I have spoken to some bootfitters and they refer to this as "sixth toe" - but I dont think that is the correct term for this area.  Or is it?

Thanks - just want to be able to communicate properly with bootfitters.

6th toes is a common term...   more people will understand this

Why communicate with the terms?  Take your foot with you and show them.

^Good point. Was setting up an appointment and wanted to be clear

i would consider 6th toe as the head of the 5th metatarsal where it joins the proximal phalange the area you refer to is the base or the styloid process of the 5th metatarsal, but as Lou says, take your foot and the boot and show them where it hurts

Holy shit Colin.  I always thought the sixth toe was next to the 5th.
