Currently I own two pairs of skis, some skinny Volkls that are 184 cm and run 108-70-96 and a pair of ~10 year old Atomic HeliStars that are 180 cm and 135-115-125. Currently my Volkls are my everyday ski and I only go to my Atomics if it's going to be dumping all day or I'm planning on catching a great day after a storm moves out. I'm looking to add a third ski to my collection, something that will mainly be used on "leftover" days where there's still powder to be found but some searching needs to be done.
I live in Boulder and have the 5 mountain pass, I plan on using this ski mainly in the trees at Keystone, and bowls at Vail, A-Bay, and Breck. I'm 20 years old, 6 foot and 180 lbs. I'm confident in tight trees and steep open powder fields. A bit cautious when skiing steep narrow chutes, but I'm working on that. I'm not necessarily looking for "you should buy XX ski" but more of recommendations on what skis to start looking at. My Atomics are great in powder but by the end of the day my legs are absolutely throbbing so I'm looking for something that will be a little less work to swing around. If the Volks were set at 0 and the Atomics at a 10 on a 1-10 scale for powder ability, I'm looking for a 7 or 8. Thanks.
