Hey,
I need your feedback on the two skis - 2010 rossignol z3 oversize vs Head Peak 6 (aka Peak 76). I am an intermediate-advanced skier who has been skiing for around 3-4 years now (renting). I probably go skiing 6-8 times a year. I am 5-8, 156 pounds. I had previously purchased the 2010 Rossignol Z3s 162 cms but I didn't quite feel at home in them. Although, I like carving and going fast, I want something that turns easy at the same time (trying to pick up moguls now days). While, going downhill at a certain speed the Z3's didn't seem to be offering me much stability and I eventually ended up cracking one the skis after a fall (after using it just 3 times)
Based on recommendations from the ski shop. I have now decided to go with the Head Peak 6 156 cms which I believe is a more advanced ski. Also notice the shorter ski height (It only reaches between the nose and the chin now, while the earlier ski used to reach just above my nose) which the ski shop guy suggested would be perfect for me because these new skiis are "designed shorter". I have always known/believed I should buy a ski that is slightly above my current ski level so felt I should have gone with the 160+s.
Another important thing to note is I usually only do Alpine skiing in the East Coast.
Was this overall a wise decision? Are the new skis better? Also, is the reduction in height appropriate for someone at my level?
Thanks in advance!
