I had polio when I was a kid in India (they did not have the vaccine those days - I am 68 going on 69). My left foot is somewhat deformed - very wide (4E) and small (61/2) with an ankle that is close to normal. The left foot also has severe hammertoes. I have an atrophied left calf. My left knee is quite arthritic - I ski with an orthopedic brace. I expect to have to get the knee replaced soon.
My right foot is normal and is a size 7 2E. I am an intermediate skier - started skiing when I was around 45 years old.
Any chance I can find a custom fitter who nhas dealt with problem feet ? I had a boot fitted for me a long time ago but my left toes are getting worse and the boot does not fit - it hurts too much to even have it on.
I live in the Chicago area and would dearly love to be able to go skiing with my grandkids.
Any suggestions would be invaluable on where I can go to get boots that would permit me to ski. I will be every grateful for any assistance.
I am a newbie here - so if this question is improper or if this is posted in the wrong place, my sincere apologies.
Thanks again for any help.
