sailed off the island tuesday with Wonder Boarder gerry to catch the approaching storm headed or way. arrived at Burke VT late that night as guest of Big Wave dave. wed morning headed out early to catch first chair at jay, weather was snowing like crazy, things were looking good but it took us a bit longer than planned. didn't get first chair but it didn't matter, wasn,t crowded at all, the Wave led the charge on a warm up down a slightly tracked run and it was smooth and floaty 12". next run into the woods and gerry and I tried to keep pace with the Wave, he was kind to us old folk  and stopped to let us catch up. this was the whole day, just kept snowing, great powder skiing. It was my first time skiing Jay when it was going off, now I know what all the talk  is about. made it back to Burke wore out. woke up thursday to do it all over again. thursday the sun was out and a lot more people were there. runs were full of soft snow and the woods were still going good but gettin worn down from all the traffic, found a few runs that were hard  with marbles, ground up by a groomer but all in all a great two days with a reported 20" of snow fall. big thanks to the Wave and Tara for their hopitality. hope the Wave isn't suffering on that J-bar at Burke because of us.--darent
