I just started controlling my own edge angles with a sharpener. Anyway, I first tried two, then three, and now four... each is so much better for seriously-angled carving (at least on my economy "carving" skis-Progressor 7+'s, whose laminate is air carbon). When I had one and two, I was edging out. Now with the higher angles, I can really tilt the skis and have them hold edge.
Anyway, serious question, what is the max I can do before the ski's performance starts getting messed up? (my current tool only goes to five; would I want/could i do anymore than that)??
A related question: if it is impossible to lower a base edge bevel (according to one 1k+ seemingly-informed poster here), then is it safe to say you can only get a .5 on race skis (assuming most factory tunes give a 1 base)??
