keen skier, bought k2 mt baker skis w/ naxo nx21 2.5 years ago. wonderful ski for the mixed piste/mogul/powder/crud skiing that i do.
as far as boots go, i am on tecnica magnesiums, properly sized and w/ conformable footbeds. couldn't be happier. rather wide foot.
problem is, actual AT isn't very comfy in these boots, i develop pressure points that don't exist when i just ski.
long story short, i want AT boots.
i don't think i need them extremely sturdy, since i ski the magnesiums with the back bolt removed and very little upper buckle pressure+ quite some shin play.
i skied garmont megarides once, but they put me in the back seat with their lack of forward lean and made skiing a NIGHTMARE. ideally, i'd want something with as much lean as my magnesiums!
found the megarides to be overly stiff in terms of forward flex and too high. but that might have been due to the upright skiing position they forced me into.
which AT boots have a ton of forward lean?
matrix: too roomy
spirit4: little heel hold w/ stitched liner
quest: shin bang...
