I would much rather see this exceptional jacket go to a real ski enthusiast than to some "ham & egger" who just has the money and only skis once a year.  So, here's the link on eBay.

Maybe someone would be kind enough to post to the forum from which I am forbidden!  Thanks in advance.

Apologies for if this inconveniences anyone.

WOW! Such a bargain on your gaperwear.

Protip: Real skiers don't wear that shit.

eBay auctions belong in the PSA section.

Your comment is exactly why I don't frequent this site!

Thank you crgildart for some direction.   I will try to post it over there.

So, well, let's see, rather than contribute 15 posts (you've only been here over 3 years rolleyes.gif), you skirt the rules by putting the thing in the general skiing forum to promote your eghey listing- well gee, aren't we lucky. Seems like it good for everyone involved that you don't frequent the site.

TGR would call this, ummm - I believe douchebag is the term that usually used.

Anyway, hope everyone else laughs at your gaperwear auction, and you get stuck with it for another bunch of years in your closet.

nonono2.gif   Chill.  I have met the man and he's someone whose participation would be broadly valued on this site, but you're chasing him off.  They don't come much nicer or friendly than him, nor are many as passionate about all things skiing as he is.

I believe the word is "Jong"

Just as a BTW, Bode doesn't actually wear this jacket, or anything close to it.  I believe what you have is from the '07ish season and he only wears 2010 models and newer.  Also you can buy a brand new one of these (2010 version) for about $700-$850, so your really not saving a ton of $ for a 3 year old jacket that has been hanging in your closet.  Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to be honest.

In no way a personal afront but how are people chasing off a potentially valued contributer who's been signed up for over 3 years with only 7 posts ?!? Not a bastion of value contribution. And $799 for a 3 year old jacket - please...

799 dollars for a brand new jacket is moronic.

Right. With 7 posts in 3+ years  guess he's in for the long run, eh?

Perhaps he encountered a similarly warm welcome in the past ???  (answer = past hostility encountered)   I suggest you re-read the epic terms of use you agreed to you when got your account.  You may be a "maggot" over there, but this site is different.

Wow--Arothafel, on behalf of EpicSki, I'd like to issue a sincere apology to you for the behavior of a few of our juvenile members.

While Kjus clothing is expensive, I've looked at a few of their jackets and they seem to be very high quality, functional stuff. It's out of my price range, perhaps, and sometimes worn by skiers with more money than skill (what isn't?), but I've also seen some very good--and very happy--skiers in it. And I have a wool Kjus sweater that I've worn so much that it is starting to fray, but it's still one of my favorites.

I hope you find a buyer for your jacket. And I hope you'll consider staying around and posting more often.

Best regards,
Bob

You mean the same terms that say that you have to post 15 times before being able to list something for sale, then ignore the rules and list it in Ski Gear Discussion with a title like "15 times....Really?" to promote an ebay auction. Smooth, eh?

And then compound it by asking "Maybe someone would be kind enough to post to the forum from where I am forbidden" and then take offense when not making any contribution to the forum in years. Maybe he encountered the same "warm welcome" by pulling the same kind of unsavory stunt.

Whatever.

So I am watching Repo men last night and there is a line in it that totally strikes home to me. It went something like " our society is built on rules and the enforcement of those rules is what keeps us from being a bunch of naked apes". So to the dood skirting the roolz and the weak sauce peeps that were apologetic, you folks need to get your sh!t together IMO.

The fact that his auction is titled "Kjus, Spyder, Descente, blah blah blah jacket" when it is in fact for just a Kjus jacket puts his character into question.  I hate ebayers like that who have to use tricks in an attempt to get more views.  It's just dishonest.

You mean it's not a Kjus, Spyder, Descente, Phenix, Marker jacket!?

Judging by the price, I thought it was 5 jackets.th_dunno-1[1].gif

I wouldn't call the action juvenile at all. There are rules in place for the PSA section for a reason--to keep non-contributors from exploiting the community. That section is there for the benefit of active members, not for someone to show up and use the fact that this is a skiing site to target a sale they want to make. Some other members were just trying to highlight that (admittedly not in the most cordial of terms).

There's a lot to be said for buying super high quality gaperware. I have a red Karbon shortie that I put into action in 2001. Still looks pretty good. I recently ski'd with a USSA race coach (not a gaper or jong he would bury most of us//he sure buried me on the hill) skiing in the same exact coat. So I thought hmm maybe it isn't gaperware but don't care I like it....it has lasted 10 seasons and still looks ok and is comfortable. Keeping in mind how long it has lasted without looking ratty or falling apart I figure it was actually a bargain.

I would like Kjus too I am sure but out of my price league unfortunately but the price on that auction was fair I think, I just am not a fan of white jackets.....

I will be replacing the Karbon jacket with a new one soon, when my bonus check shows up......just like Clark Griswald, he got his bonus too finally.....
