Mother Snowbird

Here are two videos I took on the fly at Snowbird a few weeks ago, while claiming my Snowbird Wiki prize trip. (3 days at the Cliff and 6 lift tickets, see my sig)  I know these vid's are not the best, but I took my camera out of my pocket w/o thinking too much.  If you haven't been to Snowbird, they will give a taste of the enormity of the two big bowls on top.

On The Road to Provo in Little Cloud Bowl - my favorite place on planet earth.

Mineral Basin - Again, i could have done much better, but wasn't thinking, just following my daughter, heading to Junior Powder Paradise, which is a nice groomed adv intermediate run down MB that many Bird newcomers probably don't know about.  The bowl is just enormous.  I don't know how long that cat track is, but you can dive in anywhere.  Only problem is much of it faces south and snow quality can be a problem, a real problem sometimes. I never get tired of the high alpine incredible views, surrounded by towering peaks.

For those of you waiting for or considering a Bird/Utah trip, here are my albums to whet your appetite.

This thread is from an early Dec trip, when the base was reported to be only 38".  Skiing was awesome.

Actually I found the videos quite interesting, indeed they give a good perspective on how long the traverses are and hence the bowls below...in the second video, it would have helped to get one peek of the panorama ... thanks, video does give the perspective as advertised.

having skied at alta, makes me wonder why this area looks so big relative to spots in Alta..hmmm

Alta is nice, but it doesn't have bowls to compare to Snowbird.  It has teacups.
