Swix Wax - What To Do When The Temperature is on the Boarder between using LF6 and LF7

Planning a 2 day ski trip and I won't be able to wax my skis while I'm away.

The temperature will be colder on day 2.  With the temperature, is it better to use LF6 or LF7?

LF7 is the clear choice for Day 1, but with a cold front coming LF6 is the choice for Day 2.

Am I better to go with the LF6?

I'd go with 6. Base burn sucks.

When in doubt go with a harder wax, so 6

Follow up question

Will the 6 perform as well as the 7 or will the skis feel slow/sticky using the 6 on warmer days?

Yes and no.  Of course the best wax for each day, is whatever the temp is that day.  Given that you said that you wouldn't have time to re-wax between days though, I'd go with 6.  A warm wax on a cold day will feel "slower" than a cold wax on a warm day.

Not sure why you're using LF though, unless you're racing why don't you just us CH?

Using LF because my kid is going to a race camp (another parent taking a bunch of kids and the parent hasn't discovered the joy of tuning their own skis).  Not an ideal situation to get maximum benefit out of the race camp, but it is still 2 extra training days.

Always favor the cold side.

Have any of you stacked a high-temp overlay onto LF6?

If so, what did you use?

Just drip equal amounts of 6 and 7 on the ski and iron in at the higher temp setting for the harder wax.  Just be careful not to smoke the wax.
