2010 Vokl Grizzly on groomers

I've been looking at getting these however the width is a little worring for me at 89 under foot. It wouldn't be a problem if i skied out west or east; but i ski in the mideast and ice is normal. But i've heard that these are amazing on ice. I'm 5'6" 200lbs aggressive and ski mostly here at perfect north (http://www.PerfectNorth.com/) and I take a trip or two to either the east coast or west coast a year depending on work and want something that can handle there as well.

Whats your opinion for the Grizzlys on Groomers (becuase i will ski there at my home hill most of the time)?! too much ski?

thanks

Aren't they pretty much a groomer ski?

Thats what i thought too, but i just talked to the people at my ski shop and they said no. Which is confusing me becuse everything i read plus the volkl site says hard pack/ groomers (basically frontside)

I've been skiing the griz since it came out and love it.  But I'm 6'4" 270ish and can flex it.  Its not the ski for everyone but it does a lot better on groomers than it does in anything over 4" deep.  Like others have said about it, it does prefer speed so be ready for a fun ride.

I ski almost all groomers in the east and only get the powder on our western trips, even then I switch over to something a bit fatter, this year it will be either the atlas or the answer depending on the conditions and my mood.  Did I mention I have a great wife who bought me two pairs of skis this Christmas :)

My only suggestion would be to demo it first if you can and try all three modes.
