I can now join the ranks of the skiers that have had a collision with a snowboarder. Happened this morning about 100 yards off the lift where the trails separate. I was in front of the boarder and going to ski the run to the right. The boarded was trying I believe to catch up to his buddy ahead of him and going down the trail to the left. After he hit me he said I skied into him! I responded that he was behind me . Meant nothing to him . All I can imagine is the trails are pretty flat at this point and he wanted to be abe to get to the steeper section of where he was going and was heading there in more or less a straight line.
No big deal really but my arm is sore and I have a weird abrasion on it even though none of my clothes tore. Kind of startles you when this happens and I feel fortunate I wasn't injured as I'm heading to Colorado Wednesday and I would have been mucho pi__ed if this incident would have screwed my trip up. Just reinforces that we're not alone out there.
IMHO safest place on the mountain are the moguls not the groomed "throughway" runs.
