Racing Crash: The Aftermath

Thread Starter

Was in a nasty crash last night at practice, smashed my face into the snow and slid on it for a while.  Resulted in a bloody nose, face, knee, gums, stoved thumb, sore back, and swollen knees and face.  (Fortunately I got the clear and everything is still intact, just a little sore.  Should be good to sky by tomorrow.)  So instead of going out last night I got my camera out and took some self portraits.

Any thoughts or critique would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking

Thanks,

A stoved thumb is when you bend it too far and its black and blue and really sore for a day or 2, but nothing is broken.

You might have "skiers thumb", which is when you tear your ulnar collateral ligment of your thumb. To check the integerity of this ligament, you spread your fingers apart, and pull your thumb at 90 degrees to the plane of your palm. If you damaged it you will be able to tell the difference between your two thumbs. Sometimes these require surgical repair.
