One More B.C. Cat Trip - White Grizzly - Meadow Creek, B.C.

This is from about 10 days ago.  It was cold and bluebird!  WG had received about a meter of new in the few days prior to our arrival and it was nice and fluffy... ........Kootenay Cold Smoke!   If you're not familiar with White Grizzly, it's a small opeation; one cat and a lodge about 30 minutes from the cat pickup.  They cater to higher end skiers with a typical run being 40 to 45 degree consistent pitch for 2,000 to 2,500 feet of vertical goodness.  Most runs are more north or east facing so the snow holds well.  It's also got the pimpest cat you've ever been in.  It's sweet!

Joining Brad and Carole later this season, third time. You've let the secret out.

I think that's pretty close to Wildhorse.  Very similar terrain except we couldn't ski any of the open faces or exposed terrain due to the avi danger.  "High-end" meaning it's expensive?  I'll take basic and cheaper biggrin.gif

White Grizzly is a couple/three hours north of Wildhorse but is also located in the Selkirks, hence the similar looking terrain.  "High end" refers to the level of skier they cater to.  It's not any more expensive than other operations in B.C. but Brad will tell you that they cater to expert skiers and don't want to get a bunch of intermediates trying their tenure.  Part of his reasoning is they don't have terrain that suits lower angle pitches or wide open bowls and glades that might be more suitable to newbies to cat skiing.  That and he does what he does because he loves to ski and wants to get to the goods for himself too.  I was just trying to be polite in the way I phrased it.

its all good, and similar again, "advanced skiers" and above only, yeah, no one needs to be slowed down getting fewer runs......    High-end usually means expensive.....  icon14.gif
