Mt. Baker Pan Face warning

I skied Baker for the first time today after our big week long rain extravaganza.  If you ski there watch out at the bottom of Pan Face.  There was a huge slide and there are ice balls strung out all over the place.  Some are 5 or 6 feet in diameter at the bottom of the main face, near where the highway crosses the slope.  This is not where slides usually are, but on the run where the most folks tend to go.  This is below the trees, where light is often flat, and if you come blasting into it you might be very unpleasantly surprised.  I've never seen anything like it in that location, so watch out!  I suspect that these obstacles might be there for the rest of the season since they are so big and it would take a lot of snow to make them disappear.

I'm going back tomorrow and I'll try to get a picture if the light is right.

If that's where I think you are talking about - it could be "exciting" in flat light.
