17" inches overnight and we were headed to Denver and school but CDOT closed the highway so we decided to take advantage and educate the girls on snow conditions....

Sorry about the wind noise....I need to learn to edit and add music...

Nice! Was that Little Trees? Hard to tell from the video, but that is not an easy run, for those of you unfamiliar with Copper. Too bad we missed you today, we were over on Sierra quite a bit earlier, it looks like.

Little Trees it was....we got there a little late to get fresh but fun was had!!

Best snow we got was in Enchanted Forest but I have to carve that video up to get it small enough to upload to my free vimeo account;-)

Dave, you lucky Dawg!

Colin and I skied Copper yesterday.  We had an epic run down Slip Not in Enchanted Forest toward the middle of the day.  Nicely wind distributed and compacted snow.

The best lines, though, were down Endeavor into the trees just a bit short of Little Trees.  At 2:45 we had untracked lines down into the tree glade.  Then we played the steep line through the trees into the gully.  It was an incredible day.  But my hat off to you for getting after it today.  I, instead, got to drive 285 to Denver last night so I could make a flight to NYC.  I know who got the better end of that deal.

Very nice, theyre gonna be great skiers someday. I skied winter park, specifically mary jane all day yesterday, berthoud pass closed around 11 so we had to take the long way back to Wyoming. My back is sore but the snow was AMAZING, and we keep getting more.

heh, COSkigirl and I were doing the exact same thing, couldn't believe no one else was around there. The snow kept blowing over and refilling. We must have been alternating with you guys.

We kept waiting for the CDOT speed maps to drop below 1.5 hours for the drive from Silverthorme to the Tunnel (10 miles)icon13.gif and gave up at 9pm.  Got up at 5:30 to drive the girls down to school and jumped in the truck only to get to Silverthorne to find I70 closed.  Waited for 2.5 hours and then decided to go skiing instead of waiting any longer.....of course the road opened 15 minutes laterrolleyes.gif

Happy with my choice...5 hour drives home last night I heard.....

That's funny!  Good times had in there on Monday!  Seg, I bet they were the ones we watched drop in there while we were on the lift.

Very cool, is that a plateau or kind of ridge line you guys are cruising (fast) on before you drop into the powder field. Looked pretty darned steep and deep, good workout for clearly expert skiers (the kids I mean!)

Yes, it's a ridge line that leads over to the drop.  When I'm at home I can post some pics from that run that show other Bears and how steep it is.

I'm hoping UGASkiDawg posts a brag about this weekend's events.  His daughters both rock!

Awesome!! Those little ripper chicks give me someone to look up to :) Great to see them out enjoying the snow. COSkiGirl took us on little trees. It was pretty intimidating those first times - but after a week of steep and trees, i wish i had a chance to go back and get it!
