Ski Instructor Training

I am possibly looking to teach skiing and was wondering if any areas offer some type of 4 day "camp" (or other days) of training for people who are interested in teaching ? I think at one time Killington or Stratton offered it but I cannot seem to find any information on this. I am located in the Boston area and would be looking for a New England area if at all possible.....

Thanks

John

John,

I heard this year that Killington has stopped doing the "public" courses that they ran. Almost every ski resort runs instructor training courses as hiring clinics for their own staff. Most resorts have no problem accepting people who have no intention of actually working on their staff. Call the ski school office at a resort you are interested in. Most schools run their training in the fall/early season.  Some run sessions in the spring.

Used to be Nashoba Valley ran a 1-2 week training program before hiring, ran 1st 2 weeks of Dec, you could attend days, evenings, or weekends depending on how you could work it into your schedule, then there was a hiring "exam" at the end of the 2 weeks. This was 20 years ago though, wow time flies.Good luck in your efforts.
