I'm going up to Boyne Highlands located in the outskirts of Petoskey, Mi. if anyone is interested to meet up there. I will most likely be by myself seeing as my friends have trouble being hardcore.
Gotta warm up for my trip out in SLC.
Sort of. I've got a pass at Nubs, but I live in SE Mich.
Just about every time I go to the Highlands I wind up bailing after a couple of hours and driving across the street to Nubs, so I've skied both resorts on the same day many times. With rare exceptions, the snow is much better over at Nubs.
Ok. So the snow was pretty much fantastic this weekend up at Nubs and Boyne. I swear, I haven't been on snow like this in michigan since I can't remember when. I mean, I had powder up to my upper calfs in some places. IT WAS NUTS!
Also what was nuts was giving myself a concussion Saturday at around 330pm. I forgot a bunch of stuff but now the only thing I can't remember is the actual fall or how I got myself to the Ski Patrol. The first thing I remember after blacking out was a brief glimpse of someone standing over me after I had falling asking if I was alright because that was a pretty nasty fall and responding, "Yes." Then the next thing I remember was being put into a neck brace at the Ski Patrol.
I wish I could have stayed and kept skiing. The conditions were perfect and it wasn't busy at all.
However, it did keep me from skiing today, when temperatures were at -15.
