on this site a ton of people get by with no credibility at all.  they tend to be the most outspoken, and normally the least desirable people on the site.

My list

Ghost

Tdk6

dalvuri

Snofun

these people cant be shamed into leaving, are block headed and have more of agenda than anyone else, and because this site is 'PC" we cant flame them enough to make them go away.

dalvuri recently sent me this jem.....

If you're going to call me out as being all talk, no walk, you have to come up with something that shows you skiing well on a challenging slope, or STFU, and don't ever insult me you disrespectful, ignorant, mediocre skiing punk. Ha, what an idiot.

my PUBLIC reply to him since I wont sink to call someone these things behind his back is this.

sorry D, but really I feel you should be gone. I also feel the other should be gone. I would relish the day I got to ski with any of the above. You guys are all talk and no walk and I, as I know MANY others wish you would be gone for good.

Dude relax,

I'm pretty sure Daveluri was just playing G.N.A.R.  You can get 5 points for a skier callout on Epic Ski biggrin.gif.  That first pic is sweet.  Where is it?

I am not calling out whether or not they should be able to post here. All 4 of them pretty much stir the pot with out ever informing or trying to help. On TGR they would have been long gone, a long time ago.

Bush, you may want to cool down a bit.  I just skied a couple of laps with davluri at Squaw (totally by chance).  Nice guy and an excellent skier.   The picture on the avatar is Chimney at Squaw, a gnarly run by anyone's standards.  I piss in my pants just looking down into it.

As far as I can tell, both davluri and Bush are very solid skiers. Don't know about the other guys. Civility is a good idea, though, no matter how good you are. Ingemar Stenmark always struck me as a pretty humble guy, for example.

I don't know... it seems that anyone can post a pic of someone skiing in  a helmet and claim it's them. Or who knows, maybe you could ski well a year or two ago but now can't.

To be sure we need a video of you skiing a really sick line all the way down to the camera, doffing your helmet, reading the headline from a recent edition of a national newspaper, and exposing a recognizable birthmark. devil.gif's advocate.

"That's A.Schick to you."...   that's funny, I've been reading your name as 'As_ Chick', I was going to ask you to ski a line down to the camera and doff your pants... now it appears your just a dude, not a hot girl who is proud of her assets. Bummer.

Bushwacker,

If you are going to call him out, at least spell his name correctly.

Chill a little.

BW, that picture on the arete is very cool, thx. any details about the run?

you shouldn't take my posts so personally, and the PM, well, you must have gotten under my skin, which is my bad, and it was over the top. the important thing here is that we probably should keep our bickering in gems like that PM, better private than public, as no one cares how we feel about each other, or what we think of each other's skiing, though everyone likes a good scrap, well perhaps not.  I hope we're done with this very minor spat. I can't follow what the point of this thread is: sharing shots of good skiing I hope, and acknowledging that both of those pictures are "sweet".

I'm not really trying to organize my life around acceptance at TGR. and my son posts there and I wouldn't want to embarrass him. redface.gif

Prickly, the best skiers are modest to a fault, though look at the difference in personae of Stenmark and Tomba.

Yes, BW, I am a total blockhead (if not an "undesirable" total blockhead).

what's up? you still want to prove that others can't ski by showing a picture of yourself tearing up a green run. The arete shot is nice, and the kind of run we all enjoy, but not scary enough to put anyone in their place.

sorry, that was an insult to TGR, and they are pretty solid as a group in terms of skiing the gnar, huge hucks and bad a$$ lines.

I hope this ends in a group hug.  I like those.  If not, there is an ignore feature that is under-utilized.  Just hover the cursor over the member's name in a post that you'd rather not read, and there it is...pure gold.  "Ignore Member"

PRIVATE messages:  Bushwacker, you need to know that posting private messages publicly is just bad forum behavior, wherever it occurs.  If you feel abused by a private message that violates our terms, bring it to the attention of a moderator.  I would not want my PRIVATE communications abused this way,  It reflects badly on you to do this and is a violation of the basic tenet that Private messages are intended as Private material not to be published in a thread.  I'm not sure what part of Private, you missed.  In the future, I hope you will check to be sure that any private message content to be posted publicly is done with the knowledge and consent of both parties.  Its a matter of trust and respect, in spite of differences you may have.  Its a golden rule thing.  You wouldn't like it done to you, don't do it to someone else

I would have been honored to be included in that list.  I value all their posts.

Guess I'll have to work on my blockheadedness.

Well, at least people can take heart that I wasn't trying to pretend to be one either. There are other forums for that. eek.gif

Isn't it equally bad behavior to take a public forum spat to private message? Seems kind of balless to me. If you have to go to private message to respond to something being said in plain view of everyone on a forum, maybe it shouldn't be said at all. That certainly applies to the quoted PM. Seems kind of like a way of playing the victim publicly while being an aggressive dick privately. I respect that he called it out publicly--where it should have remained to begin with--though I don't know why he dragged other names into the mix. The only one it reflects badly on, imo, is the guy that wrote it.

And what kind of a pansy reports things to moderators anyway...

No argument here.  That is where the ignore function comes in.  It shuts off posts and PMs if anyone feels they have reached that point.  I usually expect this kind of stuff in August when the entertainment value is higher.

As far as what kind of a "pansy" reports to moderators, we really do keep it out of the forums and work to resolve issues fairly.  In sports, its usually the guy who retaliates that gets flagged for an infraction when he takes matters into his own hands.  Its not so different here.  You can choose to retaliate, but its not likely to work out well. Kinda brings to mind the old saying about wrestling a pig...you get dirty and the pig likes it.

Actually I'm not sure about the pig liking it either, but its great entertainment for the bystanders..

yeah dragging others into was bad form on my part.

D's PM was one of the most spineless things I have ever witness on any site. all of the mean and nasty with none of the recourse. this was away to make some recourse. I have never once sent a nasty PM because well if I wouldnt say in front of others there is no reason to say it.

Let this be a lesson to everyone. Dont send me nasty PM's. If you disagree take sometime and dont try to insult me on your PM and this wont happen to you. D's PM was pure insult, and no substance.

Fair enough. I didn't realize ignore shut off PMs too.

I can't see it that way.  You boast, try to get people pissed off from your first word in the title to your last word in your post.  Someone has had enough of it, but had the good taste not to bring our beloved forum any more bile than it already has.  Plus, it was really well written, reminiscent of Point-- Counter Point on Saturday Night Live.

With all due respect I have to disagree. As we've been trying to teach many of our high school aged kids, NOTHING you text, email, or post on the internet is private. The name Private Message is meaningless. It is simply a one to one communication instead of a one to many that can readily become one to many as BWPA has demonstrated.
