How Long Should My Skis Be?

I'm a beginner at the sport of skiing, and I'm looking into buying a pair of skis.

I'm 5'3", and about 120lbs what size skis should I be looking at, and is there any specific kind?

Welcome to Epic and skiing.  Do you have your own boots?  Before spending money on skis go to a boot fitter and get a pair of boots that actually fit your feet.  Properly fitting boots are much more important than skis.

I cant agree more with getting the right boots.

But after that, you may want to consider K2's Force. It was designed with the developing skier in mind.

I plan on skiing in Northern, and Western Michigan. And as for the boots, yes, I do already have a pair of boots. Whenever I've rented before I usually get 140cm, but I didn't know if there were skis that were better fit, and/or better quality?

thanks.

well im not familiar with what conditions out there are like but i do know the general rule is if you ski powder or softer snow than you will want a wider ski if you ski east you will wan a narrower ski .you generally what your skis to hit you in the nose if you hold them up from the ground parallel to your body so if you are 5'3" so you probably want something around 150. good luck hope this helps you
