I have a pair of 2007 Nordica Nitrous Hot Rod boots. I bought them from an ex-Nordica Team member. He skied on them one day for about an hour and they were near perfect...not a scratch and not one scrape on the bottoms! Anyway, I got them for $80 2 years ago, but because I am still on a pair of Head RS100's, I have not mounted them yet! I love Nordica boots and they fit me perfectly. The problem is I am 45 and though I'm in very good shape, I no longer want a boot this stiff...especially when it gets cold and they stiffen up.
I noticed the perforated lines around the shell, and though I have had boots custom fit - heat fitted shell, liner and orthodics, etc - I never had a boot softened or cut. Is this possible, and is it a good or bad idea?
