My bsl is 335mm which is max for the vist plate. He said the screws were right inline with the plate screws and it wouldn't work. The vist rep said it should work.
Any help is appreciated.
I'd take the word of the tech, since he probably put your boot in a jig, lined it up, and discovered the binding screw locations overlap the plate screws making it impossible to mount the binding in the correct position. The VIST rep is probably making an educated guess without knowing exactly how things line up for the specific binding you have.
At a 335mm BSL I'm not surprised - IF by Freeflex you mean the Tyrolia Freeflex bindings. If not, what exact binding are you trying to have mounted and on which Vist plate model?
BTW - If you really want to avoid this in the future and have your doubts about the competency of the ski techs then learn to mount your own bindings.
I went to another Tech and the same problem arose. The holes lined up right over the screws on the plate. FYI to anyone with a 335 bsl. The Vist plate with not work with Tyrolia freeflex bindings. I'm not sure the 330 will work either. I ended up going with the Look racing bindings.
