I have a pair of 2002 Tecnica Icon TNT X boots. I had them professionally fitted and shelled out for the custom foot beds.
They've gotten a lot of use over the years and to be perfectly honest, have never been all that comfortable even after shell stretches and other alterations. Rather than dropping $500 or so on new boots, I was thinking of trying new boot liners from a manufacturer like Scarpa or Zipfit. Any thoughts on this?
If this is just a horrible idea and I'm resigned to buying new boots, is it crazy to buy them online? I am attracted to some of the deals I see advertised and love to save a few bucks when I can.
I'm an advanced skier, spend most of my time off-piste, and have fairly normal to slightly wide feet with a small bone spur on the top of my left foot. I also have rather large lower calves. Any current performance type boots that are known for their comfort?
