Pros: Good lifts, no lines, good little lodges, near Deadwood

Cons: nothing steep, beer too expensive, near Deadwood

Terry Peak is a fun little area.  Very reminiscent of the Midwestern areas I skied as a kid.  The area is about 7 miles from Deadwood S. Dakota in the Black Hills; so lots of economical lodging, and places that would happily take your money gambling.  It is only about 15 miles off of I-90, so very easy yo get to.   Terry is a really friendly little area.  4 chairs (a Quad and 3 doubles), and a magic carpet for the beginners area.  About 1100 vertical, and tops out at around 7,000', pretty impressive for the Dakotas. 2 Lodges, one at the bottom and one in the middle, you can drive to either.  The beginners area is at the lodge in the middle which...
