Pros: Tons of room above the arch, tight fit, no slip
Cons: Narrow, even by my standards.
After spending the last 13 years of skiing wearing boots that left my feet numb for days after, I knew that something had to change. The problem was always having the circulation cut off when the top of my foot got squished into the top of the boot. The Tecnica Phoenix line alleviates this by increasing the overall volume of the mid-foot area. For the first time ever, I was able to complete a full ski day without experiencing any significant discomfort, and my feet never went numb. Width-wise, it's a very narrow boot, there was barely any room to spare.
Performance: Not only was my first day with these the most comfortable in a long time, it was also the best performing. The boot did not slip, and it was easy to initiate turns, think of anything you wanted to do and the boot transferred it to the ski. Black runs were easy, and the bumps were not a struggle for once.
Still has that new-boot smell, so no durability rating.
