Skiing at Sundown

Pros: Good runs and terrain, good value

Cons: none

I live about 40 miles from Sundown, I skiied here in the 70's and several times over the years.  Sundown honors my season pass from my home ski area so I get 50% off of lift tickets,    Their snow making equipment is excellent, they get an early jump on the ski season if the temperature cooperates.  The lodge is always clean and staff is friendly, Gun Barrel is about the only challenging run here, mostly you find green and blue groomers.    I have always enjoyed myself here and will be back,

Pretty decent for midwest skiing

Pros: You can ski there

Cons: It is midwest skiing

I grew up skiing sundown mountain.  While I now live in Colorado and enjoy the likes of Vail I have no regrets that my early experiences were at Sundown.  The ski instruction there was good and if you can ski gun barrel you can ski most anything out west.  You will never get an epic snowfall or a great ski day in at Sundown but you will learn to ski and that will be a big advantage when you come out west.
