Finally had the opportunity to test this nice tool on a pair of base high skis and in need of new structuring for the upcoming season. Using the extra coarse ruby stone expedited the base material removal to obtain a flat base. I found that following that with the steel blade not only reduced the structure nicely, but also removed any of the plastic base hairs. Here is an image of the base after finishing with the medium ruby stone, followed by a fiber pad. It was then cleaned with Bio Citron, hot scraped twice withMaplus Race Base Soft, an additional coat of RB Soft. After 1 1/2 hour, or so, it was scraped, roto brushed with brass.
