Old lady skier

We love it here

Pros: Good snow and snowmaking; nice trails

Cons: Crowded; too many snowboarders

This is not a huge mountain, but it's pretty darn good for the mid-atlantic- probably the best. The natural snow is good - they get a lot of it and snowmaking is excellent. They do a good job grooming the trails. There's always some event being hosted here, if you are into that. We have a house here, not part of the resort, just a house, so we are here every weekend during ski season. Before the house, we had been coming here for several years and our son attended the ski school regularly. The ski school is excellent for kids as young as 3. They can go for the day or for half day. They get to ski and they get time to play indoors and get fed. It's great if you want some adult time to ski....

Very Accommodating Ski Resort!

Pros: Great lifts, weeknights aren't crazy busy, worked with our school to accommodate our ski club

Cons: Weekends are busy, Snack Bar is expensive

I live and teach not far from 7 Springs, and I advise our school's Ski Club.  7 Springs has always been incredibly accommodating to our group, and everyone always has a great time.  I feel good about taking our middle school students there, as it is safe and the slopes are always well groomed.  The food is kind of pricey, but that's the case no matter where you go these days.  Weekends do tend to be busy, but that's just a testament to how AWESOME 7 Springs is!  I also frequent 7 Springs throughout the rest of the year for all of the awesome festivals and events they host.  Best ski resort in the Mid-Atlantic, hands down!

Fave in the Mid Atlantic.

One of the best places to ski in the midatlantic. Not the best terrain, but good snow making, consistent conditions, good lift system, and solid resort facilities. The new owners seem to really be makeing the most of the place. Good 4 season resort. I like the Pittsburg vibe at 7S(compared to the DC vibe at most other areas in the midatlantic).

Overpriced, over-crowded and rude people

Pros: Closest "big" ski resort to us

Cons: Too expensive, too crowded, poor grooming and RUDE people

We used to ski Seven Springs a lot. Did not go there last year and just last week re-visited it. I will admit that it was holiday ski time, so we expected crowds. But this was ridiculous. To start with, they weren't selling lift tickets at the booths on the way in. Got to the main parking lot and were told we had to go to the upper lots because the main one was full. Had to convince the guy that we needed to buy lift tickets and he reluctantly let us go down there. The older man behind the ticket counter was not only not helpful, he was rude. We needed tickets for four days and inquired if there were any discounts in doing so. All he said was "NO". No explanation, no...

Ohhhh the crowds

Pros: Terrain parks, the party

Cons: The skiing, the crowds

This was our resort of choice in high school/college, we did have fun (usually due to a few to many!)  I wish I had known about the steeper hill around the corner (BK).   Returning (now 34) the crowds really are too much. I can't emphasize that enough, too many people on the slopes to ski safely.  They have upgraded the lifts from when I was in college, so though there were fast moving lines despite the crowds the slopes themselves were ridiculous.  If you do go, I suggest you ski on the front and to the left, slower lifts and therefore skiiable slopes.  The crowds were fun people but quite rambunctious, you might get...
