Pros: Great carving on groomed surfaces, great control on crusty surfaces
Cons: Not as great in powder / deeper snow
I live in Maine so I hardly get the best skiing conditions up here. Most of the time the surface is crusty or groomed. Rarely we get more than 6 inches of powder, so in fact these "old school" skinny skies have turned out to be a great choice. I have great control over crusty and icey surfaces, and groomed trails are heavenly for carving. If I lived out west I'd probably want a different ski, but for the east, these fit the bill perfectly.
Since I bought them off season I got them for a great deal too.
