For South Central PA skiing - Ski Roundtop does a pretty darn good job. I grew up locally and have been using Ski Roundtop as my training grounds since I was 10. They have really done a great job of improving the snow making capacity over the years. The mountain has a nice variation of beginner to advanced terrain, and the organization of the mountian allows for some segregation of skiier levels which is important on the smaller mountains here in PA. The mountain has also recently upgraded many of the base area amenities ( Thank you for the Fireside Pub!) which allows for a nice day trip with the family. I asked my wife to marry me at Ski Roundtop so she would always have a special place in her heart for skiing and I am now teaching my 3 yr old daughter to ski there.
