Pros: Reasonably priced deals to be gotten

Cons: can be icy at times

Have skiied Panorama Mountain Resort for years and this last year was probably the best in about a decade!  The snow began to fall in Nov/Dec and didn't stop till April.  There was lots of powder to be found, especially at the top and on some of the more un-used trails.  This year Panorama has added a Tube park, extended some of their runs with additional glading and apparently they are expanding their board park, so we are excited about see the changes.  The new local ownership has made it a priority to keep the night life going in the village, for both singles and familys.  We typically book our vacation rentals through www.cobblestonecreek.ca and have rarely...

Way too expensive

Pros: Good lift system, and a cool village, good park

Cons: ROCKS. not enough coverage not well set up for families. you have to take 3 lifts to get to the summit, expensive

This resort does not get enough snow. Rocks are all over the place off piste, kind of like Lake Louise. The grooming is average. It takes three lifts to get to the summit, which has no begginer trails. All the Green runs are on the bottom of the mountain. Experts will be dissapointed with Taynton Bowl, not because its not good terrain(its actually really steep) there is just too many rocks. expect to hit at least a few rocks in here. The park is awsome. one of the best i've been in. I just dont understand how overpriced this place is. A total ripoff.

Pros: Lots of Vert, great cruisers, low crowds

Cons: Very little snow, ugly condo village, super long runout from taynton

Panorama is a good hill for families, and those who like long cruisers. It has plenty of slope-side accommodations and the grooming is pretty good. But the village is condo-city, and things get really quiet after dark. And it hardly ever snows. The terrain in Taynton Bowl is interesting, and it doesn't get a tonne of traffic, but the snow quality isn't all that great. Not bad for the cruiser crowd, but expert skiers would be happier at Banff or Kicking Horse.

Pros: huge vertical, funicar from parking lot

Cons: your call

I visited this mountain twice.  Years ago, during a Banff -Jasper trip. Next time, it fit into the route through out B.C.   Nice variety of trails,  I needed to see all the vertical they advertised!!  early season,Snow conditions can be weak for some reason, not a great place to plan a Christmas trip. Thought it was worth a return visit.  Looks like a nice place to stay.     Most of my skiing is solo, visiting a good variety of places.  thus very little evaluation on mountain stays, sorry.  I can always sleep in an inexpensive motel closer to the next mountain.    Those slope side swimming pools do look fun.

Pros: Very little skiers

Cons: Rocky - Icy

We visited this resort at the end of Jan 2006. I loved this mountain, however, the week we were there they didn't receive any snow what so ever. The views were awesome, very little people on the hill and never a lineup.
