Pros: comfort, fit, warmth
I got the pants because I bought an Outdoor Research Mythril soft shell jacket and fell in love with the material and the quality of the product. I decided I wanted a pair of soft shell ski pants and OR had these in their lineup. I ordered them sort of late in the season so they were on sale. I love these ski pants. I have a pair of high end Spyder pants and these are my first choice every day. They fit better, feel better and look better than the Spyder pants. They have two hand pockets and a thigh pocket as well as ventilation zippers on each side, zippers at the bottom of the legs and well designed gaitors and scuffguards. The material is Windstopper soft shell which is only water resistant so they may not work terribly well in places where it rains during the ski season. The fly has a two-way zipper which I have found to be really handy. They are also loops at the tops of the belt loops for the accessory suspenders. I have the suspenders but had to fix them so they would work. I'm only 5'8" and had to shorten the back suspender part by at least 6 inches to make it usable at all, which means they really only work for someone who's at least 6'2". I've complained to OR about it and hopefully they'll fix it for future suspender users. But the bad suspender design doesn't detract from the ski pants. I need another pair of ski pants and if OR was a supporter of PSIA I would not hesitate to buy these, but they aren't so next on my list is a pair of Patagonia Powder Bowl pants.
