Pros: Unique boot design, decent performance
So, after years of searching, I was finally told about some Nordica "hybrid" boots that may work for me; indeed, their unusual design really works or me. Because of the way they open, the front tongue is much larger, which helps me by reducing pressure on my calf; i can get some pinching in the back, but it is very minor. The footbed fit is also decent, though the boot on my larger foot had to be punched out a bit for optimum fit.
In terms of performance, they are quite nice. They are very responsive, and i don't feel like I am wasting much energy in trying to use them. I do feel like sometimes I am able to flex them more than i like, but I have no seen a performance problem. However, this performance is noted with older skis and bindings (Atomic Carv 6-18 w/ Look 6.0); this season i have a new package (Stockli Laser SC w/ Marker Ti 13.0), so things may change significantly.
All in all these unique boots fell like a great setup for intermediate users!
