A great local ski hill

This is a great local ski hill with enough vertical and runs to be fun for a day without having to drive very far. Many groups come up from Chicago for the weekend because it is such a great value. The food upstairs in the bar is very good - try the Reuben with bar fries- and very reasonably priced. The cafeteria downstairs is kid food and will not break the bank. Lodging is reasonably priced and close by. Family friendly and a great ski school.

The entire hill is groomed daily, 100% snow making coverage allows them to open early with good conditions. The lifties are all experienced, helpful and friendly.

I am lucky to have this only an hour away from home!

Located in Mt. Morris Wisconsin you will find Nordic Mountain, which creates affordable, family fun for its guests. Enjoy a wide array of activities for the whole family including alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snow tubing at Stone Ridge Tubing Park and offers 7 kilometers of cross-country trails. NORDIC MOUNTAIN OPENS FRIDAY, Nov 30th, 201r from 4:30 to 10 pm for the season on man made snow. The guns are blowin every possible minute. I will be there Tuesday evening for a ski instructol training clinic and will post an update. Nordic installed new larger pumps for the snow making system dramatically increasing the water supply on the hill and also has some of the newest high tech snow making guns available. Combined with the low temps projected for the next seven days this should result in some awesome conditions on friday! We have had snow flurries on and off all day in Appleton. Winter is coming.
