Maverick Mountain
Description:

Hidden away in the mountains of southwest Montana, 40 miles southwest of Dillon in the Beaverhead National Forest, is one of Montana's best-kept secrets. Maverick Mountain is a favorite of families and kids for downhill skiing, with nearly 2,000 vertical feet of uncrowded trails and superb snow. There's exciting skiing for every level skier from the Discovery Area to Rock 'n Roll. Maverick Mountain is a big mountain - where the trails are true, the fall line sweet, the air pure and the scenery magnificent. This is skiing at its best - fun in a western atmosphere with old-fashioned Montana hospitality. Maverick Mountain is located near a mineral hot springs and features an extensive cross country skiing network of trails. Maverick Mountain is available for private skiing Monday through Wednesday for groups of 100 or more. Facilities include a base lodge with cafe, beer and wine room and a ski shop with downhill rentals. A motel, bar, and restaurants are located within 2 miles of the hill. Swimming may be enjoyed in the nearby mineral pools. Lodging is available nearby at the Grasshopper Inn, Elkhorn Hot Springs or in Dillon, Montana.
