Pros: Lots of runs, varied terrain
Easily the best hill (let's not get crazy calling these mountains) in Minnesota. It's fairly spread out across four separate hills (though, I'd call them two). There's a gondola that connects the two main areas, but you can usually ski down to connecting lifts (bit of cat walking, so not ideal for snowboarders doing that).
The staff is really amazingly friendly--it reminded me of Snowmass in that regard.
The setting is very beautiful. Many runs look out on Lake superior. The valley between the two areas has a small river running through it (you cross it on bridges).
I recommend staying at Lutsen Resort (separate from the hill) down on the lake. Again, beautiful setting, great shuttle (5 mins) to the base area.
