Loon Mountain Reviews

Partizan Turks

4 stars

Pros: Accesibility and variety

Cons: Expensive

Loon is a nice mountain in NH. Easy day trip from Boston. Most of the drive is on I93 except the last two miles through Lincoln. Because of this they get a lot of traffic from Boston. So be ready for long lift lines. It is a combination of couple peaks. I like South Peak better. Not as crowded as the others and had nice blue and black runs. But you need to take the Tote road lift to get in and get out of South Peak. North peak is similar to South peak but smaller vertical. Nice Mountain

Pros: Grooming, Accessibility, Terrain Variety, Lifts

Cons: Crowds, Price

I have stayed right at Loon a couple times and have been very satisfied with the experience, it is a bit pricier than some other areas with comparable terrain, but I still enjoy the area a lot. The mountain has a nice variety in terrain and is laid out in a manner that you can avoid crowds if you figure it out. The North Peak is good for avoiding crowds and has the best terrain in my opinion. great hill - go there!

Pros: gondola, decent grooming, beautiful views

Cons: crowded on occasion, not super groomed

Loon is my favorite NH mountain. The gondola is a relief in windy or snowy/cold weather. The north side chairs take you to some really nice trails. Angel Street and other steep trails are fun. The upland lake is beautiful. Close to Boston, great terrain.

Has something for everyone

Pros: Challenging double black, great amenities, nice town, good conditions, 2 parks, awesome mountain!

Loon mountain is my favorite mountain! It has something for everyone.. easy greens for beginners and double black diamonds in the woods for those experts! It is a great place for families, or for individuals. It is well groomed and kept. I can't recommend this mountain enough
