Komperdell Godfather carbon ski pole

Posted

Pros: Carbon pole has nice balance, grip is very close to Scott grips

Cons: Based on other reviews, the Komperdell pole is not very durable

I got these used on Amazon, and have 3 days of powder skiing on them.  I have skied Scott plastic death grips on aluminum 54" poles for well over 40 years, and the grips are becoming hard to find.  I wanted to find a contemporary pole with a similar grip.  These are pretty close, with a slightly narrower base where your palm's edge goes.  I've read about the lack of Komperdell durability on Epicski forums, so take that for what it's worth.

Komperdell Godfather carbon ski pole
Description:

Looking for an alternative to your old Scott plastic death grips? Try the Komperdell Godfather freeride carbon ski pole. The sabre grip is very close in shape to the Scott grip. The main difference is the width of the grip base is smaller (1.5" vs the Scott grip's 2.0"), so when you are poling the edge of your palm doesn't have the force distributed quite as much. They are hard to find in the US, but still being made in Europe.
