I demoed the Lotta Luv in January of 2008. I was not impressed.
I found it too soft and damp for my liking, it got knocked around in the cut up crud quite a bit, and it had a definite speed limit where it just shut down. That said, I found that it had a HUGE sweet spot, it was calm and confidence inspiring at slower speeds, it maneuvered easily at slow speeds, it carved nicely on the groomers and it floated well in the pow. It didn't have enough pop to really shine in short turns or to make it a joy on the groomers.
Basically, I found it to be a calm, uninspiring ski for intermediate to advanced women looking for comfortable cruising in most conditions, perfect for someone just becoming comfortable on advanced terrain and starting to venture off-piste. No worries, no excitement, no surprises.
reviewed February 21, 2009 at 4:26 am I really enjoy touting K2's T-Nine line of women's skis because they are all very nimble and dependable over a wide range of situations; but of all the T-Nine models K2 has brought to market, I think the Lotta Luv has been the easiest to love, especially for skiers who prefer off-piste skiing but also like to go fast on groomers occasionally. If you're a good skier and you only want one ski, the Lotta is all you would need. I have been recommending the ski to my women students since its debut several years ago, and have never heard anything but raves about how much they all love the ski. I've sold a lot of lottas over the years.
