Great small family resort


Pros: Lots of snow, friendly staff, lots of runs for all ability levels.

Cons: unfortunately it can get it's fair share of rain during the season.

I've been skiing Hemlock for around 16 years now. Great little ski hill.It has a wide variety of runs for all levels. If the expansion plans come to fruition, this could potentially be one of the best resorts in western canada.    One of the best aspects of Hemlock is it has 2 beginners areas. The bunny hill and the yellow chair which is a wide run and is a slower skiing area for beginners. It's great for those learing to ski/board but are past the bunny hill stage.    A lot of people seem to complain about the road up to the hill, honestly it's not that bad and the province does do a fantastic job maintaining it. A hidden gem in the lower mainland


Pros: SNOW! wide open groomers; nearly empty; tons of terrain; cheap!

Cons: slow chairs; slow food service; driving involves a dirt road up the mountain; no real trees

I went to Hemlock for the first time this past weekend. It was amazing! Apparently it was their busiest weekend of the year, yet there were no crowds or lift lines. Tons of terrain, you could technically get fresh tracks to the end of the day, and there was beautiful piste and off-piste.    I was shocked by how much terrain is skiable. Essentially Hemlock is at the base of a couple of giant ridges, and you can ski the entire length of each ridge (massive terrain). With the low volume of traffic, you'll be getting fresh tracks every single run all day after a dump.    The groomers were absolutely amazing. They're long and consistent in pitch: perfect for...
