If your looking for a quick escape from Toronto or want to get some turns in with your kids Glen Eden is a nice accessible option. I took my 3 year old here a few times this winter and he loved the 2 magic carpets and the open slalom course with giant spinning mushrooms and other novelties.
I've also used it as a tune up hill to get the ski specific muscles going before trips to ski the steep and deep in BC. Even though the vertical is probably only about 500 ft you can drop a couple dozen runs without big line ups and be home for lunch. For a small hill they also maintain a pretty solid terrain park, skier cross course and mogul run.
The parking lot system is a bit frustrating particularly if their wagon/tractor shuttle isn't operating and you have to manage a child. On weekends you might have to walk 400 metres+ which is no problem unless you're carrying/managing a child + gear near a busy roadway.
