Diamond Peak Ski Resort Reviews

Great small resort

Pros: good range of terrain, excellent view, less expensive

Cons: doesn't always get a lot of snow

I learned to ski here in the late 80s right after the upper mountain opened. Before that it was called Ski Incline. This year they are getting a lot of snow so I recommend going. Some years however there is a lack of snow so a lot of the resort doesn't open even with snowmaking. (The Great Flume comes to mind and Solitude) The black diamond runs on the upper mountain are nice and steep. Golden Eagle bowl is my favorite run. It used to be an advanced run but is now listed as intermediate. Go here on a good snow year so you can experience the whole mountain. Its too small to not be able to go on every run. The views of Tahoe are unmatched and it gets lots of sunshine throughout the day.

That's about right

Pros: bump runs are usually shaded and empty.

The only downside to a great sunny view of Lake Tahoe is that the scenic bits tend to also be the slushy snow bits, especially closer to the top.     Wax accordingly     The more advanced runs tend to be bumped,  shaded and empty, even on days that are busy at other resorts.
