Long Runs and Solid Lodging

Posted

Pros: Big WI Ski Area

Cons: Long Lifts

Devils head has some of the longest runs in Wisconsin.  Most of the runs wind through the woods and are fairly mellow.  The quad lift on the far right has two decently steep runs including one that’s rated double black that is fairly challenging for WI.  Green runs are on the far left so there is good skiing for everyone.  The on mountain lodging isn’t bad and very convenient.  Cascade Mountain is just a few miles down the road if you want more variety.  Cascade and Devils Head are the best skiing in WI after Whitecap and Granite Peak both of which are much further north.

Pros: Great terrain and lots of groomed long winding powder runs

Cons: Still some are old chairlifts that needed upgrades and need more webcams around all other runs or locations of the ski resort to see the status.

I wish it was because it was still slow going up to the blue runs where this Quad chairlift was placed. Other than still slow chairlifts, the terrains and all the runs are...

Good for the Midwest

Posted

Pros: Best place within 2.5 hours of Chicago

Cons: Slow lifts

Devils Head has been a weekend mainstay of mine for a long time.  I ski there in between trips out west to stay in ski shape.  I has some good runs and the Outer Limits run is a good steep for the Midwest if it isn't to icy.  My son likes the terrain parks and if you stay on the black runs, they are not too crowded.
