Red Mountain Resort

Pros: Tons of skiable acreage with no peeps!

Whistler Blackcomb

Pros: Incredible variety of terrain, lots of high speed lifts, skiing top half always good, long and challenging runs for all levels, breathtaking beauty

Cons: can be really foggy and poor visibiity, snow is often heavy and difficult to ski in at bottom half, crowds at lifts and lunch heavy on weekends

Sun Peaks: Secret Ski Haven of the BC interior

Whistler Blackcomb

“ Whistler Blackcomb has enough terrain to make it suitable for a one week or even two week vacation without getting bored by repeating the same runs continually. The village also has enough nightlife and eating establishments to also avoid the same. And all this is without further need of a vehicle once you arrive. There is a reason why it is rated number one in North America.   ...” --noncrazycanuck

Silver Star Mountain

Silver Star Mountain

“When visiting the Okanagan, I prefer to ski Silver Star. The whole backside of Silver Star will be interesting for strong skiers. The front side is a great place for intermediates.  The snow is better at Big White though, and it has more intermediate terrain. This might be worth checking out if you are in the Revelstoke area.” --manchester81

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort

“ Love skiing at Kicking Horse. On a powder day it's unbelievable- fresh heli skiing lines all day. Even when it hasn't snowed for awhile, it's not bad, because the snow is so light.   The amount of chutes is unreal and the sidecountry is huge. Now that Superbowl is patrolled, it just adds that much more terrain.   One downside is the gondola is the only way up, but I've never...” --seattle_sun

Sun Peaks

“ Price is for the 3D Card Lift Pass, providing skiing for 3 days   TL:DR at the bottom of review for the lazy one in you   A little background about me:  I live in the Vancouver area (Richmond) and consider Cypress the local mountain that I ski most often. I ski Grouse with family and friends sometimes but it really doesn’t compare. I’m an intermediate skier who has no...” --blitzraider

Fernie Alpine Resort

Fernie Alpine Resort

“ Fernie is my home mountain & I ski it around 35 to 40 times a season. Its located about 10 minutes from the town of Fernie, BC which can be seen from the slopes. It’s on the eastern slope of the Lizard Range of the Canadian Rockies and consists of 5 bowls divided by ridges which offer some very good steeps and tree skiing. All told there is around 2,000 acres of inbounds terrain of which...” --Kootenay

Red Mountain Resort

Red Mountain Resort

“ In March of ‘12, DSJ got a call from Tom Tanner, manager at Ski Pro Mesa/Tempe, AZ asking whether myself and my wife Karen would like to be part of a promo trip to Red Mountain Resort, BC.  After quickly checking my schedule and frantically moving or canceling anything in the way, I said “Well, I suppose”.  Thanks to Fran Richards, the Dir. of Marketing at Red, five of us were...” --Fritzski

Revelstoke Mountain Resort

Revelstoke Mountain Resort

“ This is my home mountain. It is awesome!   The inbounds bowls and glades here are absolutly unreal. There are rarley line ups, and by that I mean that our opening day line up is comparible to a line up at harmony bowl at Whistler Blackcomb on an average tuesday. I skied around 50 days last year and easily 1/3 of them were powder days. Revelstoke gets more snow than Kicking Horse...” --SkierSam

Whitewater

Whitewater

“ Whitewater, British Columbia, outside of Nelson, offers real skiing, unpolluted by the Wally World syndrome that affects so many large destination resorts. There's no gloss, no glitter, no snowmaking and no detachable express chair lifts. There are many ungroomed lines, mostly in the trees, but some wide open. There are cliffs, rocks, drops, stumps and logs. And there's usually...” --jhcooley

Panorama Mountain Village

Panorama Mountain Village

“ Have skiied Panorama Mountain Resort for years and this last year was probably the best in about a decade!  The snow began to fall in Nov/Dec and didn't stop till April.  There was lots of powder to be found, especially at the top and on some of the more un-used trails.  This year Panorama has added a Tube park, extended some of their runs with additional glading and apparently...” --bogeysem

Big White

Big White

“I have skied Big White a dozen times or so, and the snow has been really nice every time out. I have only gotten one really deep day, but never have had a complain about the snow. But the terrain really isn't that interesting. It is mostly an intermediate mountain with a couple short steep areas. The trees are nice though. I think this is a great place for families. Lots of kids everywhere. ” --manchester81
