Pros: Uncrowded, fast lifts, great views, great pipe/park
Cons: Cost, No advanced skiing
Buttermilk is the smallest and easiest ski area in Aspen. If you are a enjoy uncrowded novice or lower intermediate groomers, you will enjoy Buttermilk. The lack of crowding is great. The day I was there, I never waited in a line and skied many runs without even seeing another person. The grooming is extensive. The views on a clear day from the mountain top are outstanding. Although the trail map rates some runs black, all the runs are pretty easy with the blacks being more like blues. I'm not much for the park, but they leave most of the X games jumps/pipes up and they are huge. Overall it's a great mellow mountain.
