Bogus Basin

Pros: Fast and fun runs!

Love this mountain!  It is so fast and fun!  It was sunny and beautiful with a light dusting on top when I went--I bet it's AMAZING on a powder day!  Can't wait to go back!

Pros: 16 miles from downtown, good terrain, outstanding value

Cons: Buckbrush infestation, slow double chairs

I've been skiing Bogus Basin for over 20 years and it's definitely a major asset to our community. Having skied a significant number of resorts west of Colorado, you just can't beat it for its close proximity to downtown Boise and the low cost for a season pass.  The resort has 2,600 ski-able acres and lots of varying terrain, so you have a lot of options to mix it up based on what your in the mood for.  My only major complaint is the lack of high-speed quads, however I hear a new quad will replace chair 3 very soon!

In the summer months, Bogus is a great place to escape the valley heat and enjoy some alpine scenery.  The mountain biking trails are excellent and over the last 10 years, several new trails have been added to the network.

Pros: Convenient, Reasonably Priced, Not Crowded,

Cons: Elevation challenges, but last year boasted 100's of inches and constant percipitation from february through april, I hiked and skied well into may

I have Skied Bogus Basin Mountain Resort outside of Boise Idaho since 2005.  I was overwhelmed by the convenience of the resort being 16 miles from town up a windy road right near downtown.  I planned on skiing for 4 days at least for spring skiing, and was pleasantly surprised when I learned I could purchase a season pass for the same as 4 day passes.  For a Bonus My pass covered me from my purchase date February 15th, through the following season until they close.  Well from that day on my skiing here in Boise runs a few dollars or less per day on average.
