Pros: close to Boston, you can buy a ticket for 4 hours for $20 - a real deal.

Cons: only 300" vertical

I used to patrol at Blue Hills. It's a nice family hill. Dads & Moms bring their kids, but you get everybody else, college kids, young singles, professionals too. The Thayer Academy Team practices there. On a busy weekend, you have to park in the lot near the Blue Hill Reservation hiking trails, and it's a bit of a schlep, but not too bad. The chairlift is pretty slow, and the line can get long if it's busy. Most of the time the line moves pretty well, like at night or weekdays. Check out their site to find out what tickets cost, and what hours you want to ski. The view from the top can be pretty nice, dayor night
