Atomic Crimson

The Atomic Crimson is the widest of the Nomad group and is one of the flagships. It fits into our 50/50 terrain category. The Crimson is a light, nimble ski that is very quick turning for it's width. Skiing the Crimson in a variety of conditions shows how versatile this ski really is. The legendary Atomic edge grip is more evident than in the Daddy series and the somewhat stiffer tip feels solid in moderate powder and crud. The Crimson does not have the deep snow float of say the Snoop Daddy but the tip is more stable on those frozen morning groomers before the sun softens things up. Within this width category the Crimson is one of the more versatile skis as it is way quicker and more nimble than its width would suggest. This model is a little more versatile in soft snow than the very burly Crimson Ti but is not quite as stable as the Ti. I have skied the 176 and the 183 and find the 176 to be the most useful all around size. For a faster skier than I am, or one who places a premium on deeper snow, the 183 Nomad Crimson gets the nod.
