Pros: no lift lines great steep chutes and bump runs
Cons: mostly a one chair lap mountain
Apex is a mountain for good skiers. No crowds usually dry snow. If you think you are a bump skier try the K and find out if your right. One of the better bump runs in B.C. If you can non stop zipper this you are. The double black chutes Magnum, Gunbarrells, Make my Day etc. all lose more vertical the further to the right right you head but all will get your attention. Tight and steep. The front bowls below the main chair are wider and much more forgiving but are still seriously steep. There are enough double blacks and tough blacks to allow good skiers a different run each time for a day. Negative aspect is you always wind up cruising back to the base of the main chair.
For intermediate skiers there is a second chair serving just blues and greens. A mixed ability group could likely find themselves riding different chairs. Used to have one of the more interesting bars on any hill. The Gunbarrell Saloon but it was relocated/sanitized into a new lodge a few years back and only the name remains the same, pity.
